What is the Open Mic Union?
Think of the Open Mic Union like a college football program to the NFL.
Our vision is to improve the macro and micro-economics of local, live music for artists and venues alike through novel sponsorship models & a network of passionate ambassadors across the country.
We are passionate individual & corporate supporters of live music culture collaborating to provide resources, structure, technology & promotional support to artists, venues & their service industry employees to bring down the time, energy & costs associated with producing local, live music in today's world.
About the Open Mic Union
the Open Mic Union was a dream of a few OG Austinites, subsequently backed by local corporate supporters of live music culture - Mighty Swell Spiked Seltzer, Rockless Table & AIyourHIGH. Through the summer of 2027 the Open Mic Union will establish chapter cities across the U.S. to preserve and promote live music culture.
We serve the stage performers, venues & service industry employees by improving the macro & micro-economics of live music for both performers & venues through novel corporate partnerships, new technology & a network of passionate ambassadors hosting monthly fundraisers in our chapter cities.
the Open Mic Union leverages these novel sponsorship models to maximize the quantity and quality of available live music within our chapter cities. the Open Mic Union will also serve as a musician 'registry' to better connect musicians with each other as well as connecting with venues seeking musicians through our forthcoming app streamlining the administration & sourcing of musicians.

Ambassador Commitments
Ambassadors commit to sourcing at least three regular bookings satisfying each vertical within the mission.
Ambassadors support the mission of the Open Mic Union to preserve, produce & promote live music culture. See below for specific ambassador commitments aligned to our mission!
Preservation of live music culture is the lowest hanging fruit to our mission.
Ambassadors to source one venue that is a dedicated stage venue for monthly, hosted events.
Ambassadors will host these monthly fundraising events and receive 20% commission on all net funds raised during event.
Increasing the availability of live music culture requires sourcing bars & restaurants without a regular, live music schedule.
Ambassadors to source one venue that has little to no regular, live music.
Ambassadors receive a standard 10% booking fee.
Increasing the visibility of live music culture requires sourcing bars & restaurants without a regular live music schedule.
Ambassadors tsource one venue that has an established live music schedule, but is not a dedicated stage venue.

Mighty Swell Spiked Seltzer was instrumental in getting the Open Mic Union off the ground and we can't thank them enough!
As Mighty Swell expands their distribution footprint, they are offering to subsidize music costs to partner venues of the Open Mic Union in each new chapter city through our novel sponsorship model.
Adam & Nick at Rockless Table, two major individual supporters of live music culture, helped us stay afloat in the early days of the Open Mic Union and was the key to funding the founding of the Durango, CO chapter!
After repatriating manufacturing of their self-levelling table bases to the US from Mexico, they are offering to subsidize music costs for any new venue customer on minimum orders as they expand their national footprint on increased manufacturing capacity in Tucson, AZ.
The Original Golf Painstick is offering golf & country clubs subsidized music costs for regular, live music, monthly events & tournament entertainment.
With minimum orders, golf clubs can subsidize music costs with the Open Mic Union member musicians. 30% of OGpainstick orders between Oct. 1st, 2025 & Dec. 15th will be contributed to a dedicated entertainment fund for new customers.
